Assignment Plans

1. I want to make a long boarding video. I thought this would be really exciting because when you were giving us project ideas I was in the middle of editing another video and you pointed out that we could make a video as one of our projects. So I had been wanting to film something like this and I was watching one of Sam Kolder's videos (famous video creator) and he influenced a lot of my shots and color grading I used 2. I want to do a shoot of mainly architecture and creative shots downtown, but for the most part anything downtown. I love taking pictures downtown because their are so many unique buildings and things to take pictures of. Alex Meliss has inspired a lot of my ideas for taking pictures downtown and I have been meaning to do a shoot like this, I just haven't taken the time to yet. Tintype Photography

Tintype Photography Back before film was used for photography, in order take a photo of a landscape or a portrait people used what is called Tintype photography. Tintype photography uses the collodion process (a kind of chemical) which significantly reduces exposure time compared to previous time periods. Before the collodion process older cameras would be around 5-7 minutes of exposure time while the collodion process reduces exposure time to around 5 seconds. The process for tintype photography must be completed in under 20 minutes or the shot would not turn out. The process requires a plate of metal, generally aluminium, that is painted black and is smooth. It begins by pouring collodion on top and then back off leaving a nice layer on the plate. From there you place the plate inside of a tank of silver nitrate which is the chemical compound that then makes it sensitive to light so you can actually capture an image on it.
