The Argenteuil Bridge and the Seine

1. The light is a little to the right, but mostly straight over top of the bridge.

2. I would need to take a bridge at the right time of the day so that the sun shown on the bridge the same.

3. I would need to try t find a bridge that has houses behind it.

4. The painter painted the bridge a little bit from the side, not straight on.

5. I wouldn't need any clothing since there are no people in the picture.
6. A good bridge would be the lamar bridge because it has a similar arc shape.
7. The shadow of the bridge is exactly under it, so i would need to make sure not to have different shadows.
8. The hardest things will be getting the right angle of the bridge, the right angle of the shadow, and trying to find another bridge, but made out of metal instead.

Apples and Biscuits

1. From the direction of the camera.

2. I would need to use soft light, I can do that by setting the light I have on the lowest setting and being farther away, or bouncing it off of a reflector.

3. I would need to get apples, a plate, and a chest like it is all on top of.

4. The painter is standing in front of it all no special angles.

5. I won't need any clothing since there aren't any people.

6. I will need to get yellow and red apples.

7. I will need to try and find a chest to put it all on and a a plate similar to that one.
8. It will be most difficult to find a chest like that, to set all of the apples facing similar directions and finding apples that are all the same color that are those sizes.

Two Calla Lilies on Pink

1. from behind the camera and a little bit to the left.
2. I would have the sun be the main light, but would also need a fill light so the shadows don't have as hard of lines.

3. I would need to find two lilies close to each other like that that I can use.

4. The painter is painting it from an angle a little bit above the two.

5. I won't need any clothing since there aren't any people.

6. I will need to find two lilies similar to these (that aren't dead from the cold.

7. I will need to find lilies that are that big and aren't dead from the cold.
8. It will be most difficult to make behind them pink, finding two lilies that are alive, and getting the shadows the same.

Photography Essay

SAM KOLDER           The photographer who inspired me the most this 6 weeks is Sam Kolder. Sam mainly takes adventure pictures and videos. He is a huge role model because I love the places he goes and the way he color grades his photos and videos. His style is quite unique and the places he goes in themselves are already super interesting.          He tends to color his photos brightly with what is becoming more and more common, the teal and orange effect. He is always traveling and always going to the coolest places. I have discovered many other photographers/filmmakers such as Gabriel Conte, and Taylor Cut that have worked with Sam that all have similar photos that all look amazing. On his video side he not only takes amazing video and color grades it well, but the way that he shoots and edits all of it together is just so cool.         All of his photos and videos are really inspiring as well. A lot of the...

Tintype Photography

Tintype Photography Back before film was used for photography, in order take a photo of a landscape or a portrait people used what is called Tintype photography. Tintype photography uses the collodion process (a kind of chemical) which significantly reduces exposure time compared to previous time periods. Before the collodion process older cameras would be around 5-7 minutes of exposure time while the collodion process reduces exposure time to around 5 seconds. The process for tintype photography must be completed in under 20 minutes or the shot would not turn out. The process requires a plate of metal, generally aluminium, that is painted black and is smooth. It begins by pouring collodion on top and then back off leaving a nice layer on the plate. From there you place the plate inside of a tank of silver nitrate which is the chemical compound that then makes it sensitive to light so you can actually capture an image on it. After about 3 minutes you take the plate out of the t...
